Engagement Ring – the trials of online purchasing

Right well we meaning my partner in crime decided we are going to get married. For many reasons, one being if I want to stay in the US longer and be with him we need to file for the K-1 visa….but that is another story.

Lets talk about our trials of online engagement ring purchases!

Wow-  so there are one heck of alot of sites that are out there for buying your engagement ring online. We decided for various reasons not go with a true diamond. I personally think its a rip off to pay for a diamond that is forced into it ridiculousness price range due to the two top competitors forcing the price and hording diamonds and releasing them at small intervals. Emeralds are rare and way more beautiful then any diamond in my option.

So we tried the various sites Diamond Nexus Lab; great customer service and somewhat helpful. The prices are good, but there is some negative hype on them that I am not sure what to make of it.  I was curious as they offer your “stimulate diamond”to be certified and honestly I thought that was a good deal. Since none of the other top sites. Better then Diamond, Carat, Asha Diamonds offer this. Maybe it means something or nothing. As I understand the certificate has a serial number and its linked to your diamond. That its lazered onto the diamond. Now correct me here, but I didnt see that offered, but I gather its implied. So more research is needed.

We went with the Asha diamond – which is manufactured from Better Then Diamond. It seems like a nice looking stone. Again there is some controversy can a CZ diamond really have a diamond coating on it? Better then diamond claims that can just do that. So I went to their site to check it out. While they had nice rings there was nothing that stood out for me there. So off, to Ashadiamond.com to see there selection. While nice and huge variety of styles to choose from. There is some strange issue with dealing with them. They don’t have a phone number, nor after repeated emails asking to speak with someone. They refused to have a conversation with a client or albeit new client. Also even though it a CZ diamond “Asha Diamond” also apparently can come in different colour grades. However you don’t have a choice when you purchase your ring on the colour grade, you have to return the ring and request for this.

They don’t themselves guarantee there work, however they do give you one free year of jewelry insurance. While this is nice, and offers some great consumer relief, the fact that neither Asha Diamond nor Better then diamond give you any product guarantee. So if you shop with either one; make sure before you order that this is what you want as they DONT offer a true refund. They will charge you a restocking fee. Which considering the age of online shopping and paying well over a grand for some of these rings; I personally find this hard to swallow.

So before you buy here are my tips

- what sort of customer service to they provide is it only email? Or do they have a phone number where you can speak with an agent.

- refund policies

-exchanges and help selecting the right ring for you and your wonderful finger!

- what sort of diamond are you looking for!

How to use lantern interior decorating

Maybe what your home really needs is a little design here and there and something really classic to enhance the entire decor. If your home has the same lighting, bulbs and candle stands then how is it really different from any other house? Did you know that natural light is more relaxing than the artificial luminescence? If you where unaware of this then please read on, time to bring some change. Add some magic into your home and brighten up the decor using some of the oldest methods of lighting  bring home the lanterns!

You are probably wondering how a lantern can change the ambiance of your home. A lantern will provide a rustic look to your home. You can hang it anywhere but will look great in your living room as well as on the garden porch. Imagine having a dinner on the porch brightened by the subtle magnificence of the Moroccan Lantern or our classic selection of Lanterns. You need to experience it to feel the impact!

Lets take a look at Moroccan lanterns and why they are preferred to ordinary lanterns. Moroccan lighting has been a unique home decoration concept for a long time and there are reasons for the same. Moroccan decor is not something that you will find easily in US homes as it doesn’t have a deep reach. If you find a home with Moroccan decor then be rest assured that either they have traveled to Morocco to find it or they have found it through specialists like us. Moroccan Decor is rare but its uniqueness comes from the fact that it has influences of Moroccan history, culture and art. Moroccan lighting is also a part of the same influence and brings with it the geometric forms, vivid colors, and exotic designs, which have long been the symbol of Moroccan decor.

One of the exotic Moroccan lanterns also known as the henna lamps is made from stretched goat skin and is decorated with exquisite designs. The designs are all hand painted and based on traditional henna designs. Some of the designs are also dyed with paprika or saffron based dyes and is the ultimate decoration piece for your living room. It will add an earthy touch and bring in the rustic feel to your living room or any where in your house where place it. The henna sconce is also used without lighting but these are meant to be stand alone decorative wall pieces.

Another Moroccan decoration that you can try is the stained glass lamp that comes with carved motives and definitely makes a bolder statement as far as designing your interiors is concerned. The Stained glass lamps are one of its kinds and will add spice to the overall interior decoration of your house. Moroccan lamps are also known as Moroccan lanterns and can be added to an existing wrought iron chandelier to bring a warmth and delightfully appealing freshness to your home. Using lanterns has a variety of uses and can be an excellent way of creating mood and atmosphere on a low budget.

With Moroccan lighting, you can get your true creative spirit working and use them to recreate a truly exotic Moroccan oasis.

Using Lantern lighting

You can try and use various types of wattage to get different looks in terms of design and brightness. You can also experiment a little and use a candle especially if you are using the Moroccan lantern or any other lantern in a small space. While using henna lamps or henna wall sconces, you can try a low wattage to get the right ambiance  it will provide a very romantic feel.

Maintenance of your Lanterns

When it comes to the maintenance of Moroccan lighting then you can feel good about the fact that the maintenance cost is next to none. The lanterns can last for almost a lifetime. The only maintenance required involves lubrication of the side door hinges. This lubrication can be done once in a while or during the rainy season. If you choose the henna lamps or the henna wall sconce then they don’t require any maintenance at all. Should the glass become dirty you can simply clean it with regular house cleaning products. Remember to change the glass or put another stencil in to create wonderful shadows!

You will have to also spray the Moroccan lanterns with a sealant, which will prevent gathering of rust. Should you like the more rustic look allow the weather to do it magic and gently clean the lantern and apply the sealant. The other way is to use sealant on each and every metal part and for this you will have to take the glass of first. Either ways, the use of sealant will increase the longevity of the lanterns and provide you with enough luminance to last a lifetime.
